The Toledo storm damage left behind chaos during the evening commute of the Toledo area on July 5th,2012.
Toledo storm damage is widespread. Transportation was shut down on I4-75 and 23 near state line’s and the Central Ave exits due to downed powerlines. Power outages across Lucas County and surrounding areas are being reported in the thousands. Many residents in our the Toledo area spent up to 5 days to get their power turned back on from last weeks Derecho Storms. Unfortunately, residents may be facing the problem again. The cause of the July 5th storms is unknown. It is clear that with this hot weather and fronts moving through the area there will be storms…But the magnitude of these storms is something I haven’t seen in a very long time,if ever!
Many folks are reporting that there was no alert to the storms that rolled through today until after the storm had already moved on. Tornadoes and funnel clouds in the Spring Meadows area are still unconfirmed. Flooding is everywhere around town! As the story unfolds so will the damage. As it stands, there is another storm on its way here to the Toledo area, many people are crossing their fingers that it misses us.
